I do not quote fixed repair costs for each type of clock because I believe every old clock is unique, and the faults that afflict them are also unique, so the repairs needed are necessarily going to be unique as well. Some clocks only need cleaning, lubrication and adjustment; while others need new parts to be made, rust to be treated, springs to be changed and so on.
It is impossible therefore, to give even the vaguest estimate of the likely repair cost without removing the movement from the case and closely examining it, but the following list may serve as a guide.
Time only clocks (one winding hole) | £104 - £300 |
Time & strike (two winding holes) | £156 - £400 |
Time, strike & chime (three winding holes) | £234- £600 |
Dial restoration | £100 - £300 |
Case repairs | £100-£500 |
